Igor Tomashevsky finished the Special Secondary School of the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire as a pianist and a composer. In 2009, he graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire as a composer and in 2012 as an opera and symphonic conductor. Tomashevsky has performed with different Russian orchestras, including the Volgograd Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Kostroma Governor’s Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Novgorod Philharmonic Society. Nowadays, he is an assistant professor at the Chorus Conducting Department of the Herzen University in St Petersburg. In 2013–2014, he performed as a guest conductor with the Mikhailovsky Theatre. In October 2014, he became a conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
