Julia Novikova (Soprano) 
Julia Novikova was born in Leningrad, started her music lessons in the age of 4.
She was an artist and soloist of the Children’s Choir of TV and Radio of
St.Petersurg leaded by S.Gribkov.
In 2006 graduated from St.Petersburg
State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Olga Kondina).
According
to Julia, her passion for the vocal art started in her childhood, when she
performed with the Children’s Choir of TV and Radio of St.Petersurg and attended
the Mariinsky Theatre frequently.
In 2006, while she was a student at
the Rimsky-Korsakov State St.Petersburg Conservatoire, Julia got her first
permanent contracts in the German leading opera houses of Dortmund, Frankfurt,
Bonn and Berlin (Die Komische Oper Berlin). Then followed engagements in Vienna,
Berlin and Hamburg State Operas, opera houses of Washington, Strasbourg,
Stuttgart, Toulouse and Paris, opera festivals in Salzburg, Quebec etc.
In 2010, Julia Novikova celebrated a great success as Gilda in the
unique television production of Rigoletto from Mantova (directed by Marco
Bellocchio), which was filmed in the original locations and transmitted live to
138 countries. The opera was conducted by Zubin Mehta and the cast also included
Placido Domingo, Ruggero Raimondi, Sйbastien Guиze and Vittorio Grigolo.
Julia was among of the participants of the traditional Christmas concert
in Vienna (2012) and also of the New-Year Eve concert in Budapest (2014). She
collaborates with prominent singers such as Placido Domingo, Joyce DiDonato,
Joseph Calleja, Rolando Villazуn, Ramon Vargas, Aleksei Kudrya, Erwin Schrott,
Juan Diego Flуrez etc.
Julia performed under the baton of great
conductors such as Antonio Pappano, Franz Welser-Most, Maurizio Benini, Bertrand
de Billy and others.
Julia Novikova is a Prize Winner of Wilhelm
Stenhammar International Music Competition in Sweden (3rd Prize, 2006), Concours
de Geneve (Audience Prize, 2007), Neue Stimmen, Germany (Audience Prize, 2007),
and Musik Debьt, Germany (1st Prize, January 2008). She has won both the 1st
Prize and the Audience Prize at OPERALIA 2009 Plбcido Domingo The World Opera
Competition in Budapest.
