The two 23 year old sisters Hee Jin and Hyun Joo June were born in Korea and gained their diplomas at the Spezial-Musikgymnasium (music school) of the Rimsky-Korsakov- Konservatorium in St. Petersburg where they then began as students of Prof. Sandler. In 2010 they won the second prize and the audience prize at the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD and a year previously they won the first prize at the Franz Schubert Competition of the Czech Republic in Jesnik and the special prize for the best interpretation of a work by Schubert. The Remnant Piano Duo has broadcast several times in KBS Radio in Korea and has gained much concert experience. It has given concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow and has been invited to perform in Germany, Korea and the Czech Republic.
