Polina Osetinskaya (Piano)

Polina began playing the piano at age five.

She is looked upon in her native Russia as a world class pianist and recognized as one of four child prodigies contemporary with Evgeny Kissin,

Maxim Vengerov, and Vadim Repin. Age 6, Polina gave her first public concert in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the Great Hall. Thereafter, world famous orchestras and conductors have been her partners on stage. As a child prodigy,

Polina had a rigorous schedule and performed over 1000 solo and orchestral concerts. At age nine, in an international broadcast,

Polina performed in one evening’s program Schumann’s Piano Concerto and Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto, a feat still unprecedented for a child of that age and recognized as a milestone in the world’s history of piano performances.

Age 11 Polina gave her debut in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory where she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23.

Major television companies filmed documentaries of Polina with two live televised appearances between the USA and Russia in 1985 and 1986, seen by millions on both sides of the Atlantic.

1991-1993 Polina was invited by the United States Congress and the Russian Cultural Foundation to perform at Kennedy Center in the "New Names" cultural exchange between the two countries. The European Community Foundation "EEC" awarded her the first scholarship for gifted musicians.By winning reputation of the pianist of exclusive temperament and virtuous technique Osetinskaya has found significant gratitude not only in the professional musical environment but also in wide audience as in Russia and abroad as well. Musical critics invariable admit her strong and expressive creative individuality, rare charm and magnetism: “The dazzling Polina Osetinskaya comforted us by a superb palette of colors, of feelings, taking off in a flight of delirious virtuosity a piano that rings, that laughs, that rejoices, that lets itself both dominate and caress. Remarkable!!” (Le Soir, Belgium)

Polina Osetinskaya actively performs as with the hardest solo and chamber programs and with leading Russian and foreign orchestras as well. Her constant concert partners are: Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Weimar National Opera Orchestra, Sankt-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russian n/a E.Svetlanov, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, Sankt-Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra "Novaya Rossiya", Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and others.

True significant events have become concerts of Osetinskaya with known and famous conductors: Arnold Kats, Saulius Sondeckis, Alexander Dmitriev, Vassily Sinaiski, Vladimir Verbitsky, Vladimir Ziva, Andrey Boreyko, Alexander Sladkovskiy, Gerd Albrecht, Thomas Zanderling, Jan Pascal Tortellier, Luis Antonio Garcia Navarro, Karl Sollak, Laurent Petitgirard, Gintarus Rinkvaicius and others.

Polina Osetinskaya is the frequent guest of the Russian and foreign arts festivals. She significantly appeared on festivals: Festival du Wallonie (Brussels), Mozart Festival (St. Petersburg); Musical Spring Festival (St. Petersburg); Moscow Autumn (Moscow), Chopin Festival (US), Stars of the White Nights Festival (St. Petersburg), December Evenings of Svyatoslav Richter (Moscow) and others.

In May 2002 Polina Osetinskaya was awarded the honorable premium “Triumph” for creative achievements in arts.

Creative interests and activity of Polina Osetinskaya are much wider then traditional for most of the pianists’ repertoire. Constant creative installation of Osetinskaya – is the promotion of creativity of modern Russian composers – Leonid Destyatnikov, Vladimir Martinov, Pavel Karmanov, whose compositions find the increasing popularity of music public.
