Paolo Crivellaro (Organist)
Paolo Crivellaro studied the organ and piano in Milan and Basel. He is an
outstanding recital organist who currently appears at major festivals and
renowned concert venues throughout Europe. His performances are regularly
broadcast on radio and TV in various countries and have been released on CDs.
The organist frequently gives master-classes at higher music
institutions in Amsterdam, Helsinki, Aarhus, Freiburg, Pistoia, Paris,
Groningen, Prague, Gothenburg, Tokyo and Seoul; he is a jury member of
prestigious organ competitions in Odense, Toulouse, Linz, Innsbruck, Prague,
Freiberg, Füssen, Alkmaar, Milan and Kotka. Since 2001 he has taught organ
studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. From 1978–1992 Paolo
Crivellaro was commissioned by the Italian Foundation of the Arts and History to
undertake the onerous task of cataloguing two hundred and fifteen historic
organs. He is also a major specialist in the history of the organ and regularly
gives lectures and publishes articles, many of which are translated into foreign
languages and published in international music magazines. He recently wrote the
entry Italian Organ for Lexikon der Orgel, edited by Dr Hermann Busch for Laaber
Verlag publishing.
