The musicAeterna Orchestra is one of the most in-demand Russian orchestras in the field of period performance, and also works successfully with 20th-century music. It was founded in 2004 by Teodor Currentzis.
The orchestra has appeared with Currentzis in Vienna, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, Baden-Baden, Athens, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Perm. The orchestra records exclusively on Sony Classical, one of the world’s leading labels.
Among the recordings shortly to be issued is a CD of Mozart’s operas Cosi fan Tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro and a concert programme of works by Jean-Philippe Rameau. In the near future, it is planned to record Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni.
