Andrey Valenty (Bass)

Andrey Valentiy was born in 1973 in Zovtnevoe village, in the Menskiy district of the Chernigov region (Ukraine).

In 1992 he graduated with distinction from the Chernigov Music College named after L.N. Revutsky (Trumpet).

In 1992-1996 he studied at the Ukraine State Pedagogical University named after M.P. Dragomanov in Kiev (Music and Artistic Culture faculty, his vocal teacher was professor Vladimir Turets). He was also tutored by the vocal teacher of the Kiev State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky Lyubov Kryzhanovskaya.

In 1996 Andrey Valentiy entered the St.-Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, class of professor George Seleznev.

In 2001 he graduated from the Conservatory, and in 2003 completed postgraduate studies at the Conservatory (artistic director – George Seleznev).

In 2001 he participated in master classes of Vladimir Atlantov.

In 1993-1996 he was a soloist of the boys chorus at the Kiev Specialized Music Boarding School for talented children at the Kiev Conservatory, and as a member of the chorus gave performances in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Holland, Hungary.

In 1997, being a second year student, he debuted in performances of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre at the St.-Petersburg Conservatory and became its soloist.

In 2002 as a participant of the “Trio of Basses”, he began to give performances together with Boris Shtokolov and Eugene Nesterenko. Their first performance took place at the opening of the Moscow International House of Music.

In 2005 he made his first appearance on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, performing Mussorgsky role in the “Children of Rosenthal” opera by L. Desiatnikov.

Andrey Valentiy is an invited singer of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

He has participated in the following performances of the Theatre:

Children of Rosenthal (L. Desiatnikov),

Nabucco (Giuseppe Verdi),

War and Peace (S. Prokofiev),

Boris Godunov (M. Mussorgsky),

Queen of Spades (P. Tchaikovsky),

Turandot (Giacomo Puccini)

The Tale of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya (N. Rimsky-Korsakov).

As a member of the troupe he has performed in:

Finland (Savonlinna), 2007;

Ljubljana Music Festival  (Slovenia), 2007;

Milan, La Scala Opera House, 2009.


In 2009 he became a leading soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.

Andrey Valentiy has given solo recitals in France, Germany, Great Britain and Belgium.

He has performed:

at the Small Hall named after A.K. Glazunov of the St.-Petersburg Conservatory,

at the Small and Big Halls of the St.-Petersburg

State Philharmonic,

at the Prague Philharmonic Hall,

on the stage of the State Academic Chapel of St.-Petersburg,

at the Big Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky,

at the Moscow State Philharmonic Hall,

at the State Kremlin Palace,

at the  State Concert Hall “Russia”


He has worked with the following conductors:

Vladimir Fedoseev,

Mstislav Rostropovich,

Vladislav Chernushenko,

Yuri Bashmet,

Michael Pletnev,

Alexander Vedernikov,

Alexander Sladkovskiy,
