Abdullin graduated from the Piano Department of the Kazan State Conservatoire under Professor E.A. Monaszon. He studied organ at the Leningrad State Conservatoire in the class of N. I. Oksentyan (1974). During his post-graduate studies at the Moscow State Conservatoire he trained as an organist and teacher under the instruction of L.I. Roizman (1979). From 1973 onwards Abdullin has been teaching a class of specialized piano and organ at the Kazan State Conservatoire. Among his students there are instructors of leading music schools, organists, as well as prize-winners of Russian national and international competitions.

The organist frequently gives concerts at home and abroad. His repertoire embraces all main styles of the organ music – from Renaissance to the present day.
