Sergei Romanov (Baritone)
Born in Leningrad. Graduated from the St Petersburg
State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2000 (class of N. Alexeyev).
Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers
since 1999.
Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 2008.
At the Mariinsky Theatre he has performed the
following roles:
Shchelkalov (Boris Godunov), Ovlur (Prince Igor),
Eugene Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Robert (Iolanta), Silvio (I pagliacci), Marullo
(Rigoletto), Germont, Baron Duphol (La traviata), Marcello (La boh?me), Prince
Yamadori (Madama Butterfly), Danca?ro (Carmen), Pompeo (Benvenuto Cellini in
concert), Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Wigmaker, Harlequin (Ariadne
auf Naxos).
Frequently gives recitals. Has toured with the
Mariinsky Opera Company to Finland, Spain, the UK, Sweden and Japan as well as
throughout Russia.
