Alexis Soriano is one of the more outstanding Spanish
conductors of his generation. A pupil of Ilya Musin at the st.Petersburg
Conservatory, he was invited by Valery Gergiev to conduct in Rotterdam and take
part in the film ,“The Master and his pupil”. Shortly after he made his debut
with “Nozze di Figaro” at The Mariinsky Theater. Principal Associated conductor
of The Hermitage Orchestra during ten years and principal conductor of the
INSO-Lviv State Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine) from 2010 to 2012, currently he is
Artistic Director of The Festival “Spanish Evenings” in St. Petersburg and since
2012, Artistic Director of New York Opera Society.
He has conducted world
leading orchestras like, Orchestra of The Mariinsky Theater, St.Petersburg
Symphony, Prague Symphony, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Slovakian Philharmonic,
Lithuanian National Symphony, Tapiola Sinfonietta (Finland), Oulu Symphony
Orchestra (Finland), Orchestra of the National Theater of Brasilia “Claudio
Santoro”, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, English Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the
Theater of Poznan, Kapella of St.Petersburg, Moscow Virtuosi, Hermitage
Orchestra, Danubia from Hungary, National Symphony of Macedonia, Lviv Symphony,
Sinfonica di Grosseto, Regionale del Lazio, as well as the main Spanish
Orchestras.
He has also appeared at The Mariinsky Theater, Teatro Real
(Madrid), Palau de Valencia, Liceo de Barcelona, Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires,
Auditorio de Tenerife, Rimsky Korsakov Theater, Sankt Peterburg Opera,
Palau de Valencia, Lviv Opera Theater, Hermitage Theater of Saint Petersburg,
conducting Operas like; “Faust”, “Boris Godunov”, “Madam Butterfly”,Eugene
Oneguin”, “Falstaff”, “Glaura y Cariolano” (Lidon), “La Scala di Seta”,
“L’Arbore di Diana”,”Bastian und Bastienne”. He has also conducted the world
prèmieres of “The Godson of death” by W. Jünge in Chile and “Don Quijote’s
Dulcinea” by Castilla-Ávila at the Passau Festwoche in Germany .Recently he has
been elected as one of the “100 Spaniards” which features 100 outstanding
artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, which develop with excellence their careers
in foreign countries, and contribute to the appreciation of the brand “Spain”.
