Mario De Rose was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and has his italian nationality. From 1988 to 2003 Mr. De Rose was guest conductor of the following prominent orchestras: Argentina’s Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional at the Belgrano Auditorium, Buenos Aires’ Philharmonic at the Teatro Colón, Orquesta de la Provincia de Tucumán, Orquesta de la Universidad de San Juan, Orquesta de la Municipalidad de Bahía Blanca, Sinfónica Municipal
de Mar del Plata and the Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Avellaneda.

His symphonic repertoire ranges from Bach to Strauss, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dvorák, Franck and Liszt.
As a young and upcoming opera conductor, De Rose conducted Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” (1989) at the Teatro Cervantes, Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte”(1992) and “La Finta Giardiniera” (1993) at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. He also conducted the world premiere performances of Lambertini’s “La Nariz del Compositor”(1994) and Aure’s “Un Sueño Olvidado” (2000) at Teatro Colón’s Experimentation Center. In 1994, Mr. De Rose took on the position of musical director of the Banda Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires and of the Orquesta de la Provincia de Tucumán, conducting a wide spectrum of symphonic concerts, choral works, ballets and operas; some of his debuts in operatic repertoire include Verdi’s “La Traviata”, Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” as well as Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale”. Early in his career, Mario De Rose was hired as chief conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Avellaneda in 2001. Among the argentinian premieres were the uncut versions of Bellini’s “I puritani” and Verdi’s “Ernani”. A highlight in 2002 was his performance of “Carmen” at the Stadium Luna Park, with tenor Luis Lima as Don José. At La Plata's Theatre (Argentina) he was head of the music staff from 2002-2005.

His inaugural repertoire was well-rounded, including Verdi’s “La Traviata”, Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”, Puccini’s “La Bohème”, Mahler’s 5th.Symphony and “Kindertotenlieder” and Debussy’s “La Mer”. In 2004, shortly after his move to Europe, Mr. De Rose was invited by the Festival Metapontum Lyrica in Metaponto (Italy) to conduct the double bill of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci”.In Paraiba, Brazil he gave a large-scaled rendition of “Carmina Burana” for an audience of more than 5,000 spectators. Since November 2005, Maestro De Rose collaborates regularly with his friend and colleague, tenor, José Cura. The two argentinean artists have joined forces, earning great ovations in both concert and opera performances throughout Europe and Asia.

In 2007, he led a production of “Carmen” at Bucharest National Opera. The 2007 season of the Teatro San Carlos in Portugal opened with a gala concert with José Cura, under the baton of De Rose. The inauguration of the Teatro Comunale di Vicenza followed in Italy in 2008. For the ever-versatile yet scholarly conductor, the year 2009 began with significant success in Germany: The press resonance for his step-in “Tosca” at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden was outstanding. He was invited back for “Il Trovatore” and “La Bohème” soon after. In Hannover he proved his adeptness in the field of Belcanto with Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor”. In 2010, a series of gala concerts took the seasoned concert-conductor to Athens, Moscow and Seoul. He also gave his debut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna with the complete version of Puccini’s rarity, “Edgar”. Since 2011, Maestro De Rose is chief conductor and musical director at the Southbohemian Theatre in Budweis (Czech Republic). During the 2011 summer festival at Cesky Krumlov, (Czech Republic), he conducted “I Pagliacci”, with José Cura as Canio. Guest-performances of Verdi’s “Otello” followed at the Santander Festival in Spain. From 2012- 2014, new productions at his theatre and at the Cesky Krumlov Festival include Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, Bizet’s “Carmen”, Dvořák’s “Rusalka”, Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Mozart’s “Le Nozze de Figaro”.
