Boris Kazachkov was born in 1947
in Leningrad. In 1966 he entered the Leningrad State
Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, from which he graduated in 1971 having
specialised in organ studies (class of Professor Nina Oksetian) and
the history of music (class of Professor Sergei Bogoyavlensky).
He has performed in recital since 1977. The organist’s core repertoire
includes the music of Johann Sebastian Bach as well as works
in the German baroque style.
In 1990 Boris Kazachkov took part in master-classes run as part
of the International Organ Music Festival in Tallinn. In 2008
the musician undertook a tour of Germany.
From 1977 to 2006 Boris Kazachkov was organist at the Lutheran
churches of St Catherine and St Michael in St Petersburg and
was a teacher at the St Petersburg Conservatoire. He has produced
research works into the organ and keyboard music of Johann Sebastian
Bach.
