Pavel Minev (Violin soloist)

Pavel Minev “Contemporary Paganini” – that’s how “The Voice of America”, “Rosiiskaia Gazeta”, “Free Europe”,  “Culture”, “Grazia” and other world media call Pavel Minev.          Endless standing ovations of the audience on four continents at Pavel Minev’s concert performances together with classical music legends – the most famous orchestras, conductors, concert halls – such as the State Academic Symphonic Orchestra of Russia “Svetlanov” and the New York Carnegie Hall, Moscow Virtuosi and Sofia Soloist, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Columbia Artists Managements Hall, the Big Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and the Berlin Philharmony.        

At the age of 23, Pavel Minev – student at the Moscow Conservatory was recruited as full-time solo performer of the Moscow State Philharmony, where his colleagues are S.Richter, Y.Bashmet, V.Repin.

“Bright and very intriguing musician”- V.Berlinski – head of the “Borodin” Quartet. “His performance is outstanding for his masterful technique, artistic feeling, profoundness, spirituality”- K.Orbelian (USA) – head of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. “Masterful and expressing, evokes a strong emotional reaction”- D.Matsuev. That’s how members of the artistic council appreciate the performance of the Bulgarian violinist, who became the first foreigner – solo performer at the Moscow State Philharmony in its 75 years of existence. 

At the international contests in Italy, the Czech Republic, Russia, Bulgaria and Poland, Pavel Minev was awarded 1st prize. It was there where he met some of the most famous contemporary violinists (Julian Rachlin).

The Bulgarian violinists was invited to participate in the most significant professional and state-organized events, in the presence of governmental leaders and huge audiences – such as the Excellence in ESTA– honored president Y.Menuhin and the Olympic Games, the festivals of Y.Temirkanov and the Moscow State Symphonic Orchestra of P.Kogan, Days of Bulgaria around the World, the Anniversary of E.Svetlanov, the Christmas concerts at the National Assembly of Bulgaria, the Parliament of Russia and the Department of State in Washington.

His teachers were Y.Yordanova and I.Bochkova, under whose mentorship he graduated as Doctor in Musical Arts, having a scholarship from the “Sts.Cyril and Methodius” International Foundation. The violinist has carried over 50 premiers around the world, releasing CD in the US, EU, and in Russia the “Culture” Governmental Company launched with his records (together with B.Berezovski and D.Shapovalov).       

P.Minev was awarded a State grant of Russia by the President, among 10 other prominent men of the arts in 2002, by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria; in 2003 – for his contribution to the development of Bulgarian music; and in 2008 he received the Jubilee Medal by the International Union of Musicians. Pavel Minev is inclouded in the World top-list ot Great Artists(Musical World-Great Artists).
