Dmitri Levkovich (Piano)
Pianist and composer Dmitri Levkovich has been described by the press as
“… one of the truly elect, an artist with technique, a ravishing
touch, sensitivity, perspective and intelligence. Seldom do these qualities come
together so compellingly.” Dmitri Levkovich achieved international acclaim
after winning and receiving over $100, 000 at four international piano
competitions in the space of six weeks. Dmitri Levkovich first
participated at international piano competitions in 2005. Since then, he
has been awarded the first prizes at thirteen competitions including those
in China, the Gina Bachauer International Artists’ Competition,
the Cleveland Competition, the Vendome Prize, the Josй Iturbi
Competition, the Hilton Head and the New Orleans International Piano
Competitions. Dmitri Levkovich drew attention by winning special awards such
as the Audience Prize (the Cleveland and Viardo International Piano
Competitions), the Chopin Prize (the China and Cleveland International
Piano Competitions) and the Spanish Music Prize (the Iturbi
International Piano Competition). In November 2010, Dmitri Levkovich
was awarded first prize at the prestigious China International Piano
Competition.
Dmitri Levkovich has featured as a soloist with many orchestras
including the Cleveland Orchestra, the China National Orchestra,
the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Utah
Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He has appeared
in concert in Austria, Australia, Canada, Chile, China (concert tour
including the National Centre for the Performing Arts), France, Japan,
Israel, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Great Britain, Ukraine and the USA
(including his debut recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall). The
renowned Sergei Babayan was Dmitri Levkovich’s piano teacher for eleven years.
Also distinguished as a composer, Dmitri Levkovich received a Degree
in Composition from the Curtis Institute of Music, and his
compositions have been performed by orchestras in the USA and
in Europe.
