Avgust Amonov (Tenor)

Tenor

•Prize-winner of the Irina Arkhipova Foundation (Moscow, 2004).
•Prize-winner at the XIX International Glinka Vocalists? Competition (Chelyabinsk, 2001).

Born in Kazan. Graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatoire in 1997 (class of Professor Serkebaev).
Soloist with the Kazakh Abai Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet from 1995.
Soloist with the Helikon Opera musical theatre, Moscow, from 1998.
Soloist with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre from 1999.
Made his Bolshoi Theatre debut in 2001 in the roles of Vaudemont (Iolanta) and Alvaro (La forza del destino).
Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 2003, making his debut as Prince Yuri (The Enchantress).

Repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes:
Sobinin (A Life for the Tsar in concert),
Prince Yuri (The Enchantress),

Has worked alongside such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Nikolai Nekrasov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Arnold Katz, Mark Ermler and Fuat Mansurov.
Has toured to China, Korea, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands (Concertgebau, Amsterdam), Finland (Mikkeli Festival), Denmark, Australia, France and the UK (Albert Hall, London).
