Regina Rustamova (Mezzo soprano)

• Diploma-recipient at the V All-Russian Nadezhda Obukhova Competition (Lipetsk, 2012)
• Diploma-recipient at the I International Fedora Barbiere Mezzo-Soprano Competition (St Petersburg, 2012)
• Diploma-recipient at the XIV All-Russian Bella voce competition (Moscow, 2006)

Born in Baku (Azerbaijan). Graduated as an opera singer from the Baku Gadzhibekov Academy of Music in 2008.
At the conservatoire’s opera studio she performed the roles of Rosina, Lyubasha and Carmen.
In 2008 she trained at the Mariinsky Theatre Summer Academy in Mikkeli (Finland) where she took part in master-classes given by Elena Obraztsova, Makvala Kasrashvili, Vladimir Atlantov and Larisa Gergieva as well as concerts by the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers.
Soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers since 2006.

Repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes:

Polovtsian Maiden (Prince Igor)
Ines (Il trovatore in concert)
Third Nymph (Dvoшбk’s Rusalka)
Rosalia (Westside Story)

the Wood Nymph (Rusalka)

Repertoire also includes: Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Amneris (Aida), Dulcinйe (Don Quichotte), Polina (The Queen of Spades), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Hanna (May Night), Schwertleite (Die Walkьre) and Grusha the Gypsy (The Enchanted Wanderer).

In 2010 she made her debut at the Baku State Opera and Ballet Theatre as Carmen (conducted by Andrei Anikhanov).
In 2011 she appeared in recital with Larisa Gergiev in Rome, and she also took part in the festival Virtuosi of Brazil at which she performed the alto role in Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde.
In 2012 she took part in the International Valeria Barsova and Maria Maksakova Festival (Astrakhan) and the festival Larisa Gergiev Invites (Vladikavkaz) where she appeared in gala concerts as well as performing the role of Fatima in the premiere of Khanedanian’s opera Tamara and David.
Has given recitals on tour in Denmark, Sweden and Turkey.
