Soloists: musicians of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Munich Philharmoniker and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra

In 1992 Lorenz Nasturica-Herschowici (1st violin) joined the Munchner Philharmoniker as First Leader, performing as a soloist and leader under such renowned conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Sergiu Celibidache, Semyon Bychkov, Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev and Zubin Mehta. As a leader he regularly performs with the Bayerische Staatsoper and with the orchestras of various radio-broadcasting companies in Germany. Following the death of Maestro Celibidache he founded the Celibidache Trio. Since 2000 he has performed as First Violinist with the Philharmonische Oktett Berlin and the Berlin Philharmonic Virtuosi. 

Nenad Daleore (2nd violin and viola) was born in Belgrade. He studied at the Moscow Conservatoire and later in Belgrade. He has won several prizes at music competitions including the international Jeunesses Musicales competition (2nd prize, 1980). For several years, Nenad Daleore was Concert Master and soloist with the Belgrade Strings Chamber Orchestra and appeared as a soloist in France, Denmark, Great Britain, Belgium, Norway, Turkey and Germany. He has been a member of the Munchner Philharmoniker since 1984. 

Wilfried Strehle (viola) has been a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 1971, becoming a soloist in 1984. Since its foundation in 1976, he has been a member of the Brandis Quartet. He has performed with the Philharmonische Oktett Berlin, the Philharmonische Sextet Berlin, the World Orchestra for Peace under Sir Georg Solti and Valery Gergiev and the Trio Berlin which he himself founded. In 2005 he became a founding member of the Philharmonic Sinfonietta Berlin. He teaches at the von Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker and at the Universitat der Kunste in Berlin. 

Yuri Afonkin (viola) was born in Leningrad. In 2002 he graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Vladimir Stopichev). From 1996 to 1999 he was the leader of the viola section with the orchestra of the St Petersburg State Academic Glinka Cappella. He is currently leader of the viola section of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. Honoured Artist of Russia. 

Hana Baborakova-Shabuova (cello) was born in Prague. She studied at the Prague Conservatoire and the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Munich. Winner of the Bohuљ Heran Competition in Prague and the Prague Spring Gideon Klein Award. Regularly appears with the Bayerische Staatsoper Orchestra in Munich, the Talich Chamber Orchestra, the  Virtuosi di Praga and the Czech Sinfonietta in addition to recording for Czech Radio, Supraphon and Octavia Records.

Oleg Sendetsky (cello) was born in Leningrad. In 1988 he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatoire (class of Professor Iosif Levinzon). From 1987 to 1999 he was a soloist with the Soloists of St Petersburg Chamber Orchestra. From 1996 to 1999 he was a soloist with the Musorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre (now the Mikhailovsky Theatre). Since 1999 he has been the leader of the cello section of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. Regularly performs in recitals both in Russia and abroad. Honoured Artist of Russia.

Radek Baborak (French horn) has won numerous competitions, among them the International Radio Competition of UNESCO and the ARD Competition in Munich. Has Performed with the London Philharmonic, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the NHK Orchestra. Baborak is also a passionate chamber musician and regularly performs internationally with the Afflatus Quintet which he co-founded as well as with other chamber music ensembles and many renowned colleagues.
