Graduated
from the Saratov State Sobinov Conservatoire in 1982 and was engaged by the
Saratov Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Trained at La Scala, Milan,
from 1983 – 1984. Mariinsky Theatre soloist since 1989. Has performed as a
guest artist at the world?s leading opera houses, among them La Scala, the Royal
Opera House, Covent Garden (London), and the Metropolitan-opera (New York).
His repertoire includes the lead roles in Russian and European operas,
among them: Ivan Susanin (A Life for the Tsar), Ruslan (Ruslan and
Lyudmila), Boris Godunov, Varlaam (Boris Godunov), Khovansky
(Khovanshchina), Konchak, Galitsky (Prince Igor), Gremin (Eugene
Onegin), Kochubei (Mazepa), Mamyrov (The Enchantress), the Sea King
(Sadko), Salieri (Mozart and Salieri), Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich (The
Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia), Tsar Dodon
(The Golden Cockerel), Vasily Sobakin (The Tsar?s Bride), General (The
Gambler), Faust (The Fiery Angel), Mendoza (Betrothal in a Monastery),
Count Rostov, Kutuzov (War and Peace), Boris Timofeyevich (Katerina
Ismailova), Banco (Macbeth), Grand Inquisitor, Philip II (Don Carlo),
Ramfis (Aida), Verdi`s Requiem, Mephistopheles (Faust), Lindorf,

Has toured
with the Mariinsky Opera Company to Spain, Italy, France, Scotland (Edinburgh
Festival), Finland, Israel, the USA (Metropolitan-opera), Austria, the
Netherlands and Belgium.
Recordings include The Fiery Angel, Sadko, The
Queen of Spades, La forza del destino, Betrothal in a Monastery, Iolanta, Prince
Igor and Shostakovich?s Thirteenth and Fourteenth Symphonies.

Graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire
in 1974 (class of Professor G. Kovaleva). Joined the Mariinsky Theatre in
1990.
Her repertoire includes more twenty roles, among them: Naina
(Ruslan and Lyudmila), Susanna (Khovanshchina), Larina (Eugene Onegin),
Pauline, Blanche, An Oridinary Lady (The Gambler), Fata Morgana (The
Love for Three Oranges), Rozina (Betrothal in a Monastery), Sonya,
Peronskaya (War and Peace); Giovanna (Rigoletto), Zita (Gianni
Schicchi), Micaela (Carmen), Marselina (Le nozze di Figaro),
Brangane (Tristan und Isolde), Fricka (Das Rheingol, Die Walkure),
Herodias (Salome), Grandmother Buryja (Jenufa).
Has toured with
the Mariinsky Theatre to France, Japan, Germany, Italy, Finland, Israel, Spain,
Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, the UK (Royal Opera House, Covent
