Pascal Reber was born in 1961 in Mulhouse.
Began to study music at the Conservatoire de Mulhouse (piano class of Suzanne Muller-Gunst and organ and composition class of Maurice Moerlen). In 1982 Reber entered the Conservatoire national de Strasbourg. He was taught organ and improvisation by Daniel Roth, accompaniment by Charles Schwartz and composition by Robert Pfrimmer, Pierre-Yves Meugй and Odile. The musician also attended the chamber music course of Detlev Kieffer.
In 1990 Reber undertook an additional improvisation course at the Hochschule fьr Musik Saar under Daniel Roth. He has taken part in organ music master classes conducted in Masevaux and St Bertrand de Comminges by Michel Chapuis and Louis Robilliard. Pascal Reber also teaches. Since 1991 the musician has been a coaching pianist with the Ballet de l'Opйra National du Rhin, and since 2009 he has been an organist and coach at the Conservatoire de Saint-Louis (Haut-Rhin, France).
Reber is a staff organist at the. Йglise de Saint-Stйphane in Mulhouse, where he performs on an instrument made by Aristide Cavaillй-Coll, and the Cathйdrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg, which he joined in 2002 following his victory at an international competition held there. Here he performs on the great “Swallow’s Nest” organ made by Alfred Kern.
In additional to has primary, Pascal Reber also composes music and appears in recitals. His music includes compositions for organ, chorus, piano and chamber music. Reber regularly performs throughout France, Germany and Switzerland and has also appeared in Denmark, Japan, Poland and Hungary. The musician’s discography includes several recordings of organ music. At recitals as well as in recordings Reber enjoys demonstrating his skill as an improviser. Pascal Reber’s musicianship as a composer, organist and improviser has been awarded by victories at numerous international competitions.
