About This Video 02:25 The Mariinsky Theatre has hosted the premiere of the ballet Carmen-Suite. In 1967 Alberto Alonso and Rodion Shchedrin created it for Maya Plisetskaya. Now, in April 2010, the legendary ballerina and the composer attended rehearsals and the first performance of Carmen-Suite. The role of the protagonist has been rehearsed by Ulyana Lopatkina, Yekaterina Kondaurova and Irma Nioradze. The role of Jose has been rehearsed by Danila Korsuntsev and Ilya Kuznetsov and the Torero by Yevgeny Ivanchenko. Viktor Barykin is the Production Choreographer. |
