Biography
John Lill, a leading British pianist of his generation, gave his first recital at age 9. In 18 years with the orchestra played Rachmaninov's Third Piano Concerto, a performance of Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto made a successful debut at London's Royal Festival Hall. For victory Dzh.Lilla at the International Tchaikovsky Competition (1970) followed his speech with the best orchestras in the world, working with leading conductors such as D.Barbirolli, Y.Yohum, S.Ozava, Ye.Svetlanov, G. Christmas. Dzh.Lill performed in more than 50 countries, he regularly gives concerts in all the music capitals of Europe and in the U.S., gave more than 30 concerts series BBC Promenade. Lilla extensive repertoire includes more than seventy piano concertos. He is recognized as one of the most authoritative interpreters of Beethoven's music. Dzh.Lill realized record companies for Deutsche Grammophon, EMI, ASV, Chandos Records, Nimbus and others. Winner of many prestigious awards, OBE IV degree (1977) and III (2005) "for services to music."
