Sabrie Bekirova (Conductor)

Sabrie Bekirova graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky- Korsakov as a violinist 1984-1990, professor E. Komarova. Since 1993 she attended conducting classes of famous professor I.A. Musin and in 1996 became his student. After Ilya Musin passed away in 1999, she received the diploma in the class of famous conductor Yuri Temirkanov in 2000.

Sabrie Bekirova made her debut as a conductor in 1996 with the Symphony orchestra of the Karelian State Philharmonic and for two years she became it's guest conductor.

In 1997 - 1998 she was a professor of conducting in the International master-classes of orchestral conducting, with the participation of the Symphony orchestra of Karelian Philharmonic and the Institute of conductors (North Carolina, USA).

During 2000 - 2002 she performed as a conductor in productions of the Theatre " Sankt- Petersburg Opera".
In 2002 she was appointed as conductor of St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra of Popular and Classical music. Over five years she performed the concerts at the various halls in St. Petersburg with this orchestra.

Sabrie Bekirova repeatedly participated in international festivals, such as
- International festival "Time of Music" (Viitasaari, Finland, 2004), dedicated to contemporary music written by well known composers from Finland and Russia.
- International festival "The Ways of Sounds" (St. Petersburg, Russia, 1998-2008), that performed latest works of contemporary composers like Slonimsky, Ustvolskaya, Radvilovich, Korolev.
- St. Petersburg festival "Musical Spring''(2004).

Sabrie Bekirova performed with the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinskiy Theatre, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the symphony orchestra "Chamber Philharmonic" in St. Petersburg. Regularly she worked with orchestra such as the Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Armenian TV and Radio Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic of Russia (Caucasus Mineral Waters), Sochi Symphony Orchestra.

From 2004 till 2008 she had a class of orchestral conducting at the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.

In 2008 Sabrie Bekirova was nominated Chief conductor of the National State Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (Branch of the Mariinsky Theatre). Over three years she performed great number of operas with famous singers from the Mariinskiy Theatre. For this period of time were realized many new productions such as ''Iolanta'' Tchaikovsky, ''Manon Lescaut" Puccini, ''Carmen " Bizet, ''Eugene Onegin'' Tchaikovsky, ''La Traviata'', Verdi, "Faust'' Gounod. She took part in the International Music Festival organized by Larisa Gergieva.

In April 2009 she was awarded prestigious reward the ''Theatre Mask" for the best conductor's work to point out her successful interpretation of ''Carmen'' Bizet and ''Faust'' Gounod.

For her outstanding contribution to the musical life of the Republic of North Ossetia-Allania she was awarded a Diploma from the Parliament of Republic in 2009.

In March 2010 she was granted the honorable title "The Honored Artist of the Republic North Ossetia-Alania" for the contribution in the development of musical art in the Republic.

2011-2014 Sabrie Bekirova had a class of orchestral conducting of Musical College N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, St. Petersburg. She combined the teaching with the concerts. In 2013 she conducted the world premiere of Gabriel Prokofiev's work on the stage of the Great hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with the Academic Symphony orchestra. During 2014 she held performances with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic Bashkortastan as a guest conductor.

Since 2015 she is a professor of orchestral conducting in the Institut superieur de Arts de Toulouse. At the same time she is cooperating with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse.

Since 2016 she works with the Symphony Orchestra in Opera i Filharmonia Podlaska - Bialystok, Poland. Sabrie Bekirova is recognized as a talented musician possessing brilliant conductor technique. She works in different genres and styles possessing large opera and symphony repertoire.
